PTO Skate Night, September 19th.
Due to excessive heat the 5th & 6th grade softball game on Tuesday, August 22, has been cancelled. The 7th & 8th grade game will remain on Tuesday, August 22, but will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Students will bring home an Economically Disadvantaged Form to be completed and sent back to school by Friday, August 18, 2023. This form is essential to keep our free breakfast and lunch for all students. Thank you for your time and effort to help all Grand View students.

Back to school "Backpack Giveaway", Saturday, July 29th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.The first 125 GV students attending this event will a free backpack and water bottle. Free snacks, games, and other information.
Parents/Guardians of NEW Grand View students who have NOT ENROLLED for the 2023-2024 school year, please contact the office ASAP to get an enrollment packet. The Grand View office phone number is 918-456-5131. Office hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. The first day of school is August 9th.
Office hours for the summer are 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday through Thursday. The campus is closed on Fridays. Due to construction at the entrance of the school, please enter through the back gate on Burchett Rd.
Dear upcoming 5th parents/guardians, we invite your child to meet us at the band room on July 17th from 9am to 3pm, with a lunch break from 12-12:45. Lunch will not be provided, but students may bring a lunch or leave with a parent for that time to eat. Students may NOT leave other than with a parent. Also please bring a water bottle. If any students are interested but do not have a ride, send an email to acobb@grandviewchargers.org. In the email let me your address, so I can find a ride for them.

New student enrollment is open at the Grand View front office Monday-Thursday from 7:00-1:30. If an interpreter is needed, please call the office at 918-456-5131 to set up an appointment. Interpreters will be available each Wednesday by appointment only.
PTO meeting Thursday, May 25th at Mazzio’s beginning at 5:30. This meeting will wrap up the past school year and begin planning for the next one. Hope you can make it.
The April Family Engagement Event at Grand View School was our annual Health and Wellness Fair. Partnering with the Cherokee Nation Public Health, Nurse Department, GV staff organized project based learning activities where older students led younger students. Students rotated through stations including a balance beam walking while reciting the alphabet. Other eye-hand coordination and heart health activities included jump rope, bowling, connect 4, and ball toss. The Innovative Approach to Literacy grant also partnered with the 21st CCLC/Boys & Girls Club after school program sending every student home with a new book of their choosing. Families also went home with a healthy recipe packet. Many thanks to Erin Peters for coordinating the event, and special thanks to our after school teachers for their guidance and participation in this fun learning event!
Boys & Girls Club/21st CCLC after school students have "Reading Buddies". Older students read to the younger students, and oh, what a wonderful experience for all. The older students were the leaders, role modeling fluency and intonation (and authentic reading practice). Younger students can grow as a reader and gain a new friend. Many thanks to Ms. Glory for providing this opportunity during library visits in our after school time.

Due to weather conditions the ELC End of the Year Fun Day scheduled for Friday, April 28th has been rescheduled on Tuesday, May 2nd.
The Woodall 3rd-4th track meet has been cancelled and will not be made up.
Health & Wellness Fair, Friday, April 28, 4:30-5:30 in the GV Cafeteria. Join our Boys & Girls Club Member and 21st CCLC after school students for our Health & Wellness Fair! There will be action-based learning activities, and every child will receive a free book.
Parents/Families of Before School/After School students:
Please take time to help us with our funding source (Weikart Center/21st Century Learning Community Learning Center) for students that attend our before school and after school services. Our families are asked to help evaluate our program (help keep our funding). The survey will ask you about your experiences, thoughts, and satisfaction regarding the after school program. The survey is voluntary and all information is kept private. Surveys do not ask for any personal information, so no one can connect you with the answers.
