October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. An estimated 1 in 8 women and 2 ,800 men will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer by the end of 2023 (National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.). Early detection and treatment has led to a 5 year relative survival rate of 99%, more than 3.8 million Breast Cancer survivors are in our country (National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.)! It is awareness that empowers us! Grand View will participate in Breast Cancer Awareness month by having a Pink Out Day and Football Game on Thursday, October 5. We are asking that students and fans wear pink on that day to create awareness and support those in our community who may be experiencing Breast Cancer and celebrate our survivors! In addition, we would love to celebrate any students who participate in the Breast Cancer challenge, walking/running 31 miles in October! Please let the school know if your child completes this challenge so that we can recognize them! *Grand View Chargers "Pink Out" Day and Football Game Thursday, October 5 *Walk/run 31 miles in October, averages out to 1 mile a day- Let us know!

Beginning at 7:30 a.m., two Grand View faculty and staff members will be at that location to ensure students cross to the walkway/ramp safely.
