Ms. Moore's 1st grade class enjoyed a break from the rain with their handmade giant pinwheels!



The 7th and 8th grade Outdoor Education classes got to attend a fishing and conservation field trip today at the Cherokee Chota Center sponsored by NSU.





Due to weather conditions, the 1st and 2nd grade Woodall track meet today has been canceled.
Tomorrow’s track meet for the 3rd & 4th grade at Woodall has been cancelled.

Andrai Hill got 1st in the 200m dash (PR) and 2nd in the 100m dash and 2nd in the 400 m dash (PR)
Caysen Youngblood got 2nd in the 100m dash (PR)and 20 dash (PR)
Leland Deer got 2nd in the 800 run (PR)and 4th in the mile run (PR)
Olive Whitley got 5th in long jump (PR)
Tyler Cochran threw a Personal record distance in Shot Put.

Some neat things happening at Grand View:
Mrs. Gillman’s classes finished their Earth Day unit by creating a collaborative quilt!
In Mrs. Barn's 1st grade class students are learning about the 7 Continents and got to make a paper lantern when learning about the Continent of Asia!



Ms. Mays Kindergarten class went on a nature walk to celebrate Earth Day and picked up trash along the way!

Ms. Whitmire's Kindergarten class went on a nature scavenger hunt & picked up litter around campus for Earth Day. Good job!

The Health and Wellness Fair will be held in the gym next Thursday, April 24, from 3:45 to 5:00. There will be several health agencies here along with some fun fitness activities. We invite our parents to attend.

Grand View Cheer tryouts are right around the corner! Grand View students in 2nd-7th grade, who are enrolled for next year, can tryout for the competition and show teams. Those Grand View students who are in 4th-7th grade, enrolled for next year, can tryout for our sideline squad. A mandatory parent meeting will be held on Friday, April 25th at 5:30 in the Grand View Cafeteria. All tryout packets are due to Mrs. Cox or Mrs. Coltrane by Monday, April 28th before attending tryout clinics. They can be picked up in the office, from Mrs. Cox, or from Mrs. Coltrane. Cheer Tryout Clinics will be held on Monday, April 28th and Tuesday, April 29th
from 3:30-5:30 in the gym. Parents will pick up their student(s) from the gym. Please make sure that your child is enrolled in the after school program. Tryouts will be held on Friday, May 2nd starting at 3:30 and continuing until everyone is done. Grand View's Cherokee Choir competed in the Oklahoma Native American Youth Language Fair in Norman, Oklahoma. On Monday, April 7, the 2nd-5th graders competed. They won an Honorable Mention, three 2nd Place and two 3rd Place Trophies. On Tuesday, April 8, the 6th & 7th graders competed. They won one 3rd Place, two 2nd Place, and four 1st Place trophies. They competed as a whole group, several small groups and duos. Da na da li he li gv (ᏓᎾᏓᎵᎮᎵᏃ) Congratulations.


The OAAC Tournament of Champions was held at Rose State College on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Students had to take tests throughout the year to qualify for this tournament. Grand View had 10 students who qualified! We took nine of the ten who qualified to Rose State College on Saturday. Students who place 4th-10th in their subject area or the Scholar's Test won medals. Students placing 1st-3rd won a trophy.
We are delighted to announce that 8th Grader Reese Kuhns placed 9th in Language Arts, winning a medal, 7th Grader Reed Oxford placed 2nd in Math, winning a trophy, and 8th Grader Anderson Hatley placed 8th in Social Studies, 5th in Science, 7th in Humanities, and 8th on the 200 question Scholar's test!

The pre-enrollment form for the 2025-2026 school year is due Friday, April 11th. Students need to bring the completed form to their homeroom teacher. These forms must be turned in for all students. Thank you for helping us prepare for next school year.
Today, April 9th, The annual Cherokee Culture Day for students in grades K-4th took place! Students enjoyed traditional cultural activities, including Stickball.

On April 6th, the Grand View Cheer Team won 1st place at the ASC Spring Express! GO CHARGERS!
