We need your help to ensure we have enough meals and an accurate delivery route. To have meals delivered, you must sign up by calling the front office or email at food@grandviewchargers.org. Emails need to include the following information: Parent’s Name Parent’s Contact Number Address for Delivery First and Last Names and Grade Level of All Children Receiving Meals If the caller does not have access to email to sign up, GV Receptionist will gather information above and email it to food@grandviewchargers.org for the caller. Meal deliveries will only be available for those who sign up by 3:00 Thursday, December 10. Meal deliveries will also include student packets for PreK-2nd grade students. Grand View will continue to serve and deliver meals throughout the month of December. Some important things to keep in mind: Meal deliveries will happen between 12:00-2:00 p.m. In accordance to USDA regulations, food must be received by someone. We cannot leave food unattended at a residence. If you or your child cannot be home during delivery times, grab and go from the campus is still an option. Grab and go meals, along with student packets, will be available from 11:00am-6:00pm on campus. Grand View is reimbursed for all meals served to children under the age of 18 so there is no cost for the families or the school district.

Today the CDC changed quarantine guidelines. The Cherokee Nation Epidemiologist recommends that in order to reopen schools we must accurately report every staff member or student that tests positive for COVID. Similarly, we must also report any direct exposure or quarantined cases. So that our data is accurate, please notify the Grand View School Health Aide, Mrs Ladona Walls if these cases apply to you or your child. Call 918-456-5131 Ext 505 or email lwalls@grandviewchargers.org

Due to COVID-affected students and staff, Grand View will use the Distance Learning models already in place for the week beginning Monday, November 30th. This decision was made when the administrative team determined on-campus instruction could not be effective or safe given the circumstances. Substitute teacher availability, separating cohort groups, and available space to move ill teachers and students all became areas of concern. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will include the previously-used virtual learning schedule for grades 3rd through 8th grade. Teachers will instruct live from 8:00-12:00. Online support will be available until 3:30. Tuesday and Thursday will be asynchronous distance learning. Teachers will be available via email for additional student assistance these days. Grab-&-Go meals will be available on Monday from 11:00 to 6:00. Learning packets and after-school packets will also be available at that time. Technology support, counseling services and family resource information will be available all week. Please call the school if you have questions or need assistance. When Friday's Oklahoma State COVID reporting becomes available, we will make a decision for the week of December 7th. In the meantime, please keep your students engaged with their teachers, follow COVID guidelines and keep your family safe and healthy.

Good evening, Grand View School has recently confirmed positive cases in middle school students from two different grades and cohort classes. Those two students will isolate at home as recommended by the Health Department. We have done contact tracing on both cases. Our stringent policies on social distancing, seating charts, mandatory masks, hand-washing, classroom cleaning and line spacing make us think that no quarantining is necessary. Still, the Grand View Health Aide, Ladonna Walls is contacting families of students in those two cohort groups. We are giving parents the option of keeping their child at home to quarantine. If you are called and you elect to quarantine your child, please call the school and let Davada Davis know that your child will be a virtual learner for a short time. Mrs. Davis 918-456-5131 Ext 800 If you have questions about COVID or quarantine timelines, please call Mrs. Walls 918-456-5131 Ext 505. Thank you for continuing your hard work to keep Grand View safe and healthy for our students, staff and families.

Hello Grand View families: We continue to learn about strategies that impact our ability to avoid COVID and how to track and isolate it. A couple of plans we are implementing: - We are going to the same seating charts for every classroom. - We will use the same order when we line-up for meals, class changes, or to go outside. Experts say this plan will allow us to contact-trace specific groups. That will let us identify a small group for quarantine, instead of an entire class. Two more very IMPORTANT points: - If your child was exposed to someone that feels ill, or is getting tested it means; they think they have COVID. Therefore, your child should stay home. - Don't send a child to school and then go for your COVID test. Assume you have COVID and keep them with you until results come back negative. - In the event you hear someone is getting tested after your child was in close contact, you should be especially aware of your child's symptoms. You should also immediately begin a contact-trace of your own. This helps us determine who may be affected if the test results are positive. These strategies will help to reduce transmission of COVID at home and at school. It will help us keep our school open when others may close.
