Starting today and the next two away football games. The PTO will be providing a sandwich, chips, and drinks for the cheerleaders.

Grand View parents, there was a rumor of a threat of violence involving the school this week. The rumor was investigated and there was no finding of truth to the threat. However, the rumor has continued to circulate causing some concern among students and parents. To help alleviate concerns, law enforcement officers will be on campus tomorrow, and may be present randomly going forward. Be assured, all rumors or tips are fully investigated and in the event of any real threat, proportional steps will be taken to keep students and staff safe including canceling school if necessary. In this case there has been no finding of truth to the threat. Thank you.

Grand View Public School will host a public hearing for federal programs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, in the Multi-Purpose Room. Programs addressed will include Title VI Indian Education, Indian Policies and Procedures and Impact Aid, Title I and The School-Parent-Student Compact, Title II Professional Development, Title III English Language Acquisition, Title IV School Safety, Johnson O’Malley Program, Gifted and Talented Education, Innovative Literacy, Native Youth Community Projects (NYCP), Child Nutrition, IDEA-Individuals with Disabilities Act, School Climate Transformation Grant, ARP ESSER III Return to Learn Plan and 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant. The softball games today with Justis Tiawah have been cancelled due to weather.

Today's 5th/6th & 7th/8th softball games will be played at Pecan Park Road in Claremore. The start times are still 4:30 & 5:30.

In order for students to realize their fullest potential from educational efforts, they should attend all classes if possible. Under Oklahoma state law, If a child is absent without a valid excuse four or more days or parts of day within a four week period, the school shall report such absences to the School Resource Officer/ District Attorney. Please keep this in mind when bringing students late or checking them out early without a valid excuse. Examples of valid, excused absences are medical appointments, counseling appointments, and dental appointments. These parts of days missed without a valid excuse count toward absences that should be reported to the School Resource Officer/ District Attorney's office. Thank you for your continued support.

Grand View Cheer will be holding a Cheer Clinic for those students in Pre-K through 2nd grade. Clinic will be held after school on September 26th and 27th from 3:30 to 5:00. The cost of the clinic is $35. Price includes the clinic, t-shirt, participant entry into the game, and performing at halftime during the 7th and 8th grade football game against Briggs September 27. Football parents the PTO will be providing a sandwich, chips, granola bar, and water for each away game this season. The away games are August 25th, September 8th & 15th, and October 6th. Go Chargers!

Middle school athletes can receive free physicals Friday, August 5th. To receive the free physical, all paperwork passed out today, must be completed, signed, and returned , first thing in the morning.

Parent pick up procedures: Families with children in the middle school will circle through the North parent pickup loop. If you your middle schooler has a sibling in 1st through 4th grade they need to be at the same location for pickup. Those families with just students in 1st-4th grade only, will enter the front parking lot for pick up. For kids in the Early Learning Center you will circle through the ELC drop-off loop(West gate). Siblings of a Pre-K or Kindergarteners will be picked up at the same location. Thank you in advance.

School begins tomorrow: 7:00 am - School doors open for students. 7:30 am - Breakfast is served. 8:00 am - Classes begin, students must be seated and ready to learn. 2:15 pm - Cutoff time to notify the school of any transportation or after school changes. 3:00 pm - End of School Day Boys & Girls Club begins August 8th.

Just a reminder Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten Open House is tonight from 5:30 to 7:00. Enrollment continues from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through the end of the week. You can also enroll from 5:30 to 7:00 tonight and Thursday night.

Softball practice for 5th through 8th grade students enrolled at Grand View will begin next week. Practices will be held Wednesday-Friday from 9:30 to 11:30. Please bring your glove and water bottle!
