Our 5th graders stepped into the real world at JA BizTown—bankers, managers, citizens, and even a mayor for the day!
Last week, our 6th graders stepped back to the 1800s at Har-Ber Village Pioneer Days! They explored historic cabins, tried hands-on activities, met costumed interpreters, enjoyed a picnic, and had a whole lot of fun. An educational day full of living history!

In honor of Johnny Appleseed's birthday last week, Mrs. Whitmire's kindergarten class had apple week. Students learned about apples, created apple-themed art work, taste-tested different types of apples and voted for their favorite flavors! Yum!

The 3rd & 4th grade softball games for Wednesday and Thursday have been rescheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
Students will bring home an Impact Aid Survey that should be completed and returned to the homeroom teacher by Thursday, Sept.25. Impact Aid is an essential source of our funding that relies on your completing and returning this form. Thank you for your time and effort on this important survey.
Concession will be this Friday 9/26. Concession money will not be accepted at the office for students. You can send money with their order form for Pre-K -3rd grade students in advance. All other students that wish to visit the concession will need to bring money with them on concession day.
Yesterday our 3rd-6th graders got a special performance from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS) Jazz Combo right here at Grand View!
Under the invitation of Mrs. Martinez, University of Arkansas alumna, UAFS Jazz Combo took our students on a musical journey through the history of Jazz. The students had a blast listening to decades of Jazz, dancing, and participating in the music!
Thank you to our special guests : Don Bailey, Dr. David Tyson, Terri Bailey, and Andrew Hardin!
The UAFS Jazz Combo members are music professors, an accompanist, and a student from the University of Arkansas.

Kindergarten and First Grade attended NSU's production of Jack & the Beanstalk at the NSU Playhouse today. The kids really enjoyed it!







Grand View Cheer will be having their Football Cheer Clinic from 3:30-5:00 on September 29 and 30. They will perform what they have learned during the football game on Thursday, October 2. The cost is $40 and includes a t-shirt to wear for their performance. Participant's will have free entry into the game, but family members will need to pay. Registration will be sent home with your student and MUST BE TURNED IN BY MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22. The 22nd will be the last day registration is accepted so that the t-shirts will be in on time.

Auditions for Circle the State will be after school on Thursday, Sep. 11th and Friday, Sep. 12th in the music room. Any 4th-8th grade students interested may audition!
Circle the State with Song is an all-day music festival in January for 4th-8th grade students across the district. Students will have the opportunity to learn unique music, rehearse, and perform in a choir concert with students from all over the district!
A letter will be sent home with students on Monday with further information.

Today's 3rd & 4th grade softball tournament games have been cancelled.
Mrs. Gillman’s 6th grade classes created Venn Diagrams comparing and contrasting their class novel Freak the Mighty with the movie, The Mighty. The overall consensus was that the book was better!
