Dear Grand View parents,

Remember your child will have two very important forms in their backpack’s today. The fact that we are repeating this notice shows how vital these forms are. Almost all of our school funding is based on the information collected on these two forms.

The Impact Aid provides federal money for the school based on the families that live in tribal housing, work for the Cherokee Nation, or are military or government employees. These government dollars go directly to schools to replace tax dollars since these organizations are tax free.

The Economically Disadvantaged Form is a bad name for a good form. This form should be called the free lunch form. All government funds are based on the number of students that qualify for free. The more students we qualify, the more funding the school receives. Our current lunch program is free to all students. We could lose this free status and other government dollars if we do not have a high number of students qualifying this year.

Remember, all information is confidential. Central office staff calculates totals and submits these reports to qualify Grand View for federal funds. You may call the office at any time to get assistance completing these forms.

Please return the forms by Friday, September 20 to help your child’s class win a pizza party.
