As the softball season winds down we asked Coach Erin Peters how the junior varsity and varsity teams are doing this fall. Coach Peters replied, “There has been a lot of progress and learning.” Junior varsity has won most of their games and varsity has won two of their seven games. When asked which junior varsity players are leading their team this year players like Abbie Combs and Raylee McCarter were mentioned. The varsity leaders are Natalee Paige, Alayna Mcalpine, and Tara Dye. It is tournament week with the Cherokee County Tournament at Briggs beginning on Monday. The Lady Chargers play Peggs at 12:30. Coach Peters was asked how their chances were to win.“We have chance in both the county and state.” State begins Saturday, September 14th.
