On Monday, the 19th of August, the Grand View Chargers lady softball team starts their season. The first game is away at Marietta. They also have a home game against Peggs on Tuesday beginning at 4:30 for the junior varsity(5th-6th) and 5:30 for the varsity(7th-8th). When asked how she thought the teams will do this season, softball Coach Erin Peters said, “we have a lot of natural talent through all four grades.” We asked what is the team's’ strength? She replied, “right now, they are the strongest in hitting. We are working on pitching but mostly hitting and teamwork. We’re really good at teamwork this year, which is important in everything!” The varsity and junior varsity teams have improved greatly from last year according to Coach Peters. She said that the team will be strong for the next few years if the fifth and sixth grade team keeps working hard.  We also asked coach what her favorite thing is about coaching.  “When that kid that your trying to explain something to and all of a sudden that light bulb goes off and they do it in a game. Then that grows into the love for the game and for working hard”, coach replied.

We like to wish good luck to both of our teams this softball season.
