Morning and Afternoon Procedures for Parents
Dean Goss
Tuesday, August 06, 2019

School starts tomorrow. Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:20.
1st bell is at 7:45 and classes begin at 7:50.

Drop off and pickup procedures will primarily remain the same: Absolutely no drop off or pickup along the fence. The safest drop off for elementary and middle school students is the loop on the northeast corner of campus. Elementary students can be picked up there at the end of the day. Although a crossing guard is utilized daily, the gravel lot should only be used for dropping off older students in the morning. That is also the afternoon pickup location for middle school students and those elementary students that have middle school siblings. The southwest gate ELC will be open for KIBOIS and ELC drop off until 8:00 a.m. the remainder of the week. That gate will then close daily at 7:45. The southwest ELC gate will be open from 2:00-2:30 for KIBOIS 3-year old pickup only. We can no longer block traffic on Burchette Road during afternoon pickup time at the ELC. Parents with students in the ELC will wait in the gravel lot until all buses have left the school. This will be about 3:15 daily. The last bus out will flash their lights to alert parents that the ELC gate is open for pickup.

Due to the crowds associated with the start of a new school year, ELC parents will be permitted to park and walk their students to their new classrooms. In the elementary building only the parents of 1st graders and new students will be allowed to walk their children to class. Parents of new middle school students may walk over as well. This is a very busy and hectic time for school staff and children. Please take first-day photos in front of school or at home. Please honor this request so that we may make the transition easier for our new students or for students changing to a different building.

Remember that the quickest and safest way to get your child to and from school is to put them on a Grand View Bus. Another alternative to congested pickup lines is to enroll your student in our After School program. The After School program will start on Monday, August 12.

Thank you for supporting Grand View School and we are all looking forward to an amazing year.
